An intensive rooftop garden is what is commonly called “roof garden”. It represents the replica, on a rooftop, of a ground-based garden, developing the aesthetical and functional aspects of the roof. Plants can be chosen among a vast selection and they will grow exactly like the ones in a normal garden.

Daku’s intensive systems demand constant maintenance, irrigation and nutrition, but assure high performances regarding accessibility and usability, plus a remarkable aesthetic value. They have a minimum width of 24 cm and a total weight (when full of water) of 200 kg/m2. They create a walkable surface with grass and small bushes (high up to 60 cm).
As the thickness of the substrate increases, the vegetation choices then multiply. Through the use of certain plant species, it is possible to create roof gardens with a usability and aesthetic appearance quite similar to traditional earth-based gardens, making the building envelope both beautiful and usable.

DAKU INTENSIVE PITCHED this system allows the installation of an extensive garden on a pitched rooftop or in those with complex geometrical shapes, maintaining the same characteristics and performances of a flat roof. The system can be installed in rooftops with a maximum sloping of 35°. The selection of plants includes grass, vines and small bushes.
